I dont normally write reviews about professionals, but Im making an exception here, because I would have loved to have had such reassurance when I was despairing about the state of my black Labradors health several years ago. Such was the degree of Georges suffering, that euthanasia was becoming a dreaded option, but David Bentley solved the problem that several other vets had failed to solve. He eliminated weeks of severe pain and suffering within just a few hours. At the time, it felt miraculous. Mr Bentley has a seemingly encyclopaedic knowledge of veterinary medicine, expertise in the management of dermatological conditions and is a dextrous surgeon. But perhaps most importantly, he exudes compassion in the care of our beloved animals. George has just had his 14th birthday and I wont trust his care to anyone else.
Our cat Freddie was referred to David Bentley after recurrent ear infections. Freddie required a total ear canal ablation and bulla osteotomy . Freddie was very lucky as he was found to have cancer. We were so impressed with the outcome of the surgery especially after having such extensive surgery David was able to secure a fantastic cosmetic result as well, and now all of his fur has grown back Freddie doesnt look like he has even had the surgery. The follow up care was fantastic and Freddie was regularly reviewed to check on his progress. Thank you very much David Bentley .
Three year old Cavchon 'Max' had ear canal issues, on and off, for most of his life thus far. David at DermVet was tireless in researching and treating Max's condition. Following several - unrelated - surgical procedures; Max's natural defences were overwhelmed by a nasty 'bug' inside his left ear. The only course left open to us, was to have his ear drum and ear canal removed. David was most careful to explain the reasons, options and procedure details. We were confident; that our four-legged family member was in the best hands possible. Max has now had his stitches removed and back to his old playful self. We can't thank David Bentley enough for helping our Italian spinone Trio enjoy his life now pain free, having suffered terrible pseudomonas and having surgery previously by another vet on one of his ears (now retired), we were originally referred to a very large vetinary practice who didn't even examine our dog but would have been happy to take more than double what the surgery should cost!.After some research we found David and from the first contact knew he was going to make a huge difference to our dogs life, the surgery went perfectly and the aftercare was brilliant, we now have a dog who although has compromised hearing (small price to pay to be out of pain and discomfort ) has become full of life and is like a puppy again, he is only 3 years old but had suffered from being 6 months old.We would not hesitate to recommend this amazing man's vetinary care and skills in the future to anyone who is wanting the best for their pets.Thank you.
After two years of treatment with a vet, and a second opinion of another vet who just reached for the same treatment, we finally found David Bentley, at this clinic. Our Newfoundland has had two years of serious ear trouble which previous vets had treated on a symptom only basis. At last David Bentley has got to the root of the trouble, with specialised equipment and knowledge, the allergy has been located, and our MAXIMUS is pain free.A wonderful man, a true specialist, I would recommend his clinic to anyone who owns a pet with endless ear trouble and who may have been told " all dogs get ear problems and you have to live with it"
