What a hidden treasure! I recently went with my teenage son and was really surprised how much there is to see here. The old street of shops complete with pub were very authentic. We had a sit in the old cinema and watched a film on Leicester celebrating through the ages. Lots for those interested in War history and even a walk through the trench with sounds! Well worth a visit with the kids lots to see and do and a very unique building itself. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We always visited Leicester museums as kids with my grandfather so it was a trip down memory lane to see the old haberdashery shoo that used to be at wygston house
An excellent museum. Pray that the funding continues to keep this excellent educational facility open.
Theres a wonderful, confusing collection of things. Its an interesting place but expect to be confused as well as intrigued. Its like theyve put in the building all the stuff that wouldnt fit in another museum. Quirky but nice.
A hidden gem in Leicester. The building has been kept in great condition and is bigger inside than expected from the outside. The 'trenches to the twenties' exhibition is a must for anyone interested in military history and the trenches section is brilliantly done. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone wishing to learn more or just to do something different.
Free admission. Looks small until you enter. First time I went in, found everything so interested that didn't realise where 2 hours have disappeared. Good displays, good story, ability to interact with it all.
