Been visiting here since childhood. House was interesting to look around but haven't seen it in years as it's always a no show! Garden's better than it was and event days are better too, although entry ticket prices are a rip off for families when you pay for everything else anyway. Would be so much better if house was open, that would justify the cost of entry!
Beautiful historic building, not to far from city centre. Well worth a visit.
Nice gardens and house, family friendly events throughout school holidays. Parking not great at busy events. Staff are friendly and helpful.
If you want a peaceful visit don't go during any school or public holidays. The children are a nightmare. If you're aiming to go on a day when the gardens are open, I wouldn't particularly bother. The gardens are not very well kept and mostly overgrown so there is very little to really look at or admire. Not somewhere I would make a specific visit to and probably won't visit again.
Guided tour around gardens. Informative tour given by Helen. The tours are held once a month during the summer. Lots of old specimen trees and plants. The hall itself is now used for events, weddings etc. but is an important historical building of old Belgrave and Leicester.
