Staff were nice but didn't seem too empathetic. Could just be the time I was there really. Overall didn't have any major issues.
I really appreciate the staff doing their job (nurses, doctors etc.) however the truth is that if you want to be seen, the waiting times are atrocious in A&E. The department is not efficiently run and you always get that odd drunk person who misbehaves. I think more security and policing is needed. I really worry about the state of the NHS and believe it is deteriorating with the ever increasing waiting times and lack of doctors.
Avoid if possible Staff are nice but the system is at fault. Spent 20hours on a trolley then moved twice to different locations on a chair. Staff are just overwhelmed with patients and are doing their best in a bad situation.
I have visited this hospital several times over the period of 3 years. The doctor/professional care has always been excellent however, some of the admin staff are beyond rude. You can expect to be hung up on when calling or reception staff not bothering with information - very unhelpful! One with such maners and attitude would not last a day in private sector.
After going to see my doctor at my local surgery, she was concerned enough to call for an ambulance. The care from my doctor, the paramedics (who were truly wonderful, when I was feeling upset) and all the staff at A&E and in Majors was incredible. Everyone was so kind, efficient and lovely and really put me at ease. I cannot speak highly enough of the care I received.
